The Roading Company staff have a high level of experience in their field. The technical ability of our project management staff allow us to offer extensive design services in addition to our construction expertise. The pavement construction and earthworks teams operating throughout the regions are led by supervisors with many years of experience and plant operators are highly skilled.
Our mobile crushing plant operation complements our road construction operation. It enables the production and supply of various roading, drainage aggregate and sealing chip for our business and to the local market. They also provide a range of high quality materials at competitive rates.

The administration team ensures smooth management of business operations including accounts payable and payroll, plant administration, tendering and contract management, quality assurance and health and safety administration.
Project Management and Key Personnel
Peter Varrie : General Manager
As company General Manager, Peter is responsible for the company’s contract management including the tendering process, health and safety, quality assurance, operations and client liaison.
Peter’s experience extends to the coordination and supervision of the construction process, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time and within budget.
Regan McRandle: Project ManagerNZCE (Civil)
Based in Southland as Project Manager, Regan has been responsible for the successful delivery of a wide range of projects including; major pavement rehabilitations, seal extensions and widening, drainage improvements, cycle trail projects, stock effluent facility, stock underpass, DOC scenic reserve amenity area upgrades, carpark upgrades and subdivision developments. He has supervised the company’s mobile crushing operation and aggregate supply operating throughout Southland including the gravel extraction consent application process.
Regan has a broad knowledge and experience of surveying, design and construction inputs and material performance through laboratory work and site experience through former roles as Assistant Engineer (SIT) Survey Team Leader, RAMM Rating Team Leader, Construction Site Engineer, Laboratory Technician, Geotechnical Technician and Road and Traffic Maintenance Engineer.
Regan has an excellent understanding of the formulation and monitoring of health and safety, traffic management, quality assurance, environmental, construction programmes, construction plans and has developed excellent working relationships with clients and local contractors.
Henry Wilson: Project ManagerNZDE (Civil)
As the Roading Company Project Manager Henry has been responsible for the project management and construction supervision of civil construction projects in the Central Otago region for the NZTA, QLDC, DOC and private developers. He has worked on large scale subdivision projects, road rehabilitation, state highway intersection safety improvements, cycle/walking trail and footpath construction projects.
Previous roles have included Engineering Technician for Downer Technical Services and Downer Contract Manager. Henry managed various construction projects around Dunedin for the Dunedin City Council, Waitaki District Council and the NZTA. He was also Contracts Supervisor for Hume City Council Capital Works Department and Civil Co-ordinator for APP Corporation Pty Ltd, Melbourne. The latter involved a complex infrastructure project for the Australia Grand Prix Corporation, to construct a 5.3km temporary race track in the midst of Melbourne’s busy Albert Park.

Our staff are trained in Workplace First Aid, Site Safe, ConstructSafe Tier 1 and the majority of roading site staff are NZTA Level 1 STMS trained.
We are vigilant with traffic management on our sites and strive to ensure the highest level of safety on all projects. Further industry related training is also undertaken regularly.
